Bug description: ldap_set_option() while LDAP is compiled.

For some reason I keep getting:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ldap_set_option()
However, my PHP is compiled with --with-ldap and it compiles just fine.
A PHP info also shows LDAP just fine...
However, this exact same script, same system, compiled with PHP 4.1.2 same
configure options gives a GOOD result...
Can someone please advise?!!
I have installed:

openldap-devel-1.2.9-6
