From: ed@whisk.nildram.co.uk Operating system: Win2k Pro/Adv Server PHP version: 4.1.1 PHP Bug Type: ODBC related Bug description: odbc_result() doesn't return ms sql server text field correctly Using odbc functions with MS SQL Server 2k, using odbc_exec() with a select query to fill a result set. Fields of type varchar are returned successfully, but text fields behave strangely. When doing: $someField = odbc_result($resID, "textField"); the value of the field seems to be echoed, and $someField is given the value '1'. Changing the field type to varchar in SQL Server (and changing no php code), it returns to the expected behaviour (value of the field assigned to $someField). I've got the same behavior on 2 different installs of php, one running w2k pro with local sql server and one w2k adv server and remote sql server.
