The configure help has 5 times explantion of --with-libxml-dir:
./configure --help | grep with-libxml-dir
--with-libxml-dir[=DIR] libxml2 install prefix.
--with-libxml-dir[=DIR] DOM: libxml2 install prefix.
--with-libxml-dir=DIR SimpleXML: libxml2 install prefix
--with-libxml-dir=DIR XML: libxml2 install prefix
--with-libxml-dir=DIR XML: libxml2 install prefix
This looks confusing and redundant.
