Same problem. __FILE__ returns './filename' instead of
'/path/to/filename'.
MacOS X Server 10.3.6 / PHP 4.3.9
It seems this bug keeps getting reintroduced. IMO __FILE__ should
return the full path.

Alright we upgraded our production machine to
http://snaps.php.net/php4-STABLE-latest.tar.gz
(PHP Version 4.3.7-dev) in order to test the problem and it is not
working.

It also works with the 4.3.5 CLI binary.
