Never mind my previous comment about apxs not in configure...
It does seem to do the check....
checking for Apache 2.0 handler-module support via DSO through APXS...

When I configure with --with-apxs and point it to the apache1.33 this
check is done....
checking for chosen SAPI module... apache
which is not done with apxs2.....

In what part of the configure output is that "./configure: !: not
found" ?? (paste 5 lines before, 5 lines after)
