as far as I know the developer is still porting mbstring to 64bit
environment.
Although...my hack is working just fine...So far..<grin>
Let's try to keep this open a bit longer to see if we can get an
"official" version.

I'm not sure if jbarwick's suggested fix:
The changed all "int"'s to "MINT"
and changed all "long"'s to "MLONG"
is really advisable; Moriyoshi, have you looked at this? ISTR it being
mentioned before on php-dev.
