From: gzimmermann at t-systems dot com Operating system: Windows 2003 Server PHP version: 5.1.2 PHP Bug Type: Directory function related Bug description: is_dir fails, if trying to access a directory on another drive Description: ------------ A Script running in apache 2.0.55 (installed on drive c:) is trying to check for the existence of a directory; this is located on a raid-system, therefore outside of the webroot. Checking for the existence of the directory with the code below using is_dir always fails, while using opendir in the manner shown works correctly. The same 'is_dir'-script run from the commandline works, so a connection to apache seems to exist, but neither php nor apache have any restrictions in accessing the filesytem(s). Reproduce code: --------------- erroneous: <?php if (is_dir('d:/directory')) { echo 'a'; } else echo 'b'; ?> working: <?php if (opendir('d:/directory')) { echo 'a'; closedir($dh); } else echo 'b'; ?> -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=36088&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.1): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=trysnapshot51 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=36088&r=mysqlcfg
