#36404 [NEW]: configure script cannot complete libxml build

I have installed libxml version 2.6.23 and am attempting to run the configure script for PHP version 5.1.2. I have seen other bug reports similar to this, but none of the recommended fixes seem to address my problem. Below is the complete configure commandline: ./configure --with-apxs=/home/dcenker/AMP/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysqli=/home/dcenker/AMP/mysql/bin/mysql_config --enable-mbstring --enable-soap --with-libxml-dir=/home/dcenker/libxml where /home/dcenker/libxml/bin contains the xml2-config executable. The last few lines of the config.log file are as follows: Any help in resolving this installation issue would be greatly appreciated. If you need any additional information, please let me know.
