It's a bug in Microsoft Outlook, not in PHP.

mail() does not add a newline.

When sending an email with the mail() function, PHP seems to append a
newline to the mail body. I don't think this is correct.
Example:
mail("user@domain.example", "Subject", "Hello! Testing...");
