I don't know if it is related but gettext defines a '_' (underscore) function, which seems to accept only one argument, but I don't know what this function does. I don't know if it is specific to Windows as I haven't tried it on another system. Reproduce code: --------------- dl('php_gettext.dll'); $ext=new ReflectionExtension('gettext'); foreach ($ext->getFunctions() as $func) echo $func->getName()."\n"; You can also try '_('foo');' which doesn't seem to do anything.
