I've dug around in the IMAP code, I've done testing with 3 different IMAP
servers used in production, and have dug around on the c-client code for a
while.
As stated by Mark Musone in a letter to php-dev
(http://www.phpbuilder.com/mail/php-developer-list/200004/0639.php) no
server yet supports it.
I don't know the status of the RFC, but I haven't seen mention of it on
www.imap.org, nor in RFC 2060 (the IMAP standard revised). If it has been
implemented, IMAP.org doesn't seem to know about it.
But again the code is commented out. Why mislead our users into thinking
this functionality exists for PHP when it clearly doesn't? And why is
this convo happening on php-cvs and not php-dev? :\
