I don't think it's all that important (resetting it to -dev), but if it is, let's agree it's the RM's task, not anybody else's. I just recreated an RC2 package to find that it's now named -dev. Zeev At 18:02 02/09/2002, Jani Taskinen wrote:

So when we checkout php_4_2_3RC2 (or any other) tag from cvs the correct version gets displayed.
    Ah..of course..didn't think about that one. :I
    But it should be reset afterwards to -dev..
