It means you're using a Microsoft product and since you paid big bucks for SQL Server you should take advantage of their support line. However, you sound like a good person and I'm sure that you or your organization made a generous donation to OpenSource projects such as PHP with either money or development time or community service, so I'll fire off a shot in the dark at your problem. The error obviously means that there is no object called TBL_DEPT in the database you're in when the query that resulted in that error runs. So I'm wondering if you switched to the correct database before running whatever query resulted in that error? There are several ways to do it, IIRC. o In the ODBC control panel applet for that ODBC connection you can specify a db to start in (your NT admin should know how to do that), or o you can specify a db for that specific user to start in right in SQL Server (your dba should know how to do that), or o you can issue a command (I don't remember exactly, but it might be something like "USE [dbname]"--check your Transact SQL manual). Once you're in the correct database, there should be a TBL_DEPT object if you or someone else had created it at some point. If that's not it maybe someone else here would know offhand. But the best tech support for MS SQL Server and MS SQL Server specific errors would undoubtedly be either a MS SQL Server mailing list (or newsgroup) or Microsoft themselves.
