$query = "SELECT * FROM table WHERE field = 'criteria' ORDER BY field";
$result = mysql_query("db","$query");
this sort order is ascending. to get descending order, use:
ORDER BY field DESC
you should, however, go to the previously recommended site for a tutorial.
