I've been having the same problem too as well, except with a win-32 box. I have been trying to learn how to program CSV databases (those non-relational databases) and PHP is constantly giving me error messages when I try to open a database file with the dba_open() function. I had a whole block of code, thought that perhaps something else was causing the problem, so I wrote a test file consisting: <?php $db = dba_open("database.db", "r", "db2"); echo $db; ?> and that didn't work. I keep getting the message, "Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function dba_open() in c:\sano graphics\website\/misc/php/test.php3 on line 4" Can anyone give me any pointers on how this problem can be solved? Hello all. I am having some problems with the dba_* functions with PHP 3.0.16 and apache 1.3.12. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. I have installed both the gdbm and Berkeley DB2 support when running the configure script, and both appear to confiure properly... Here is a snip from the configuration script... ------------------------------------------ checking for gdbm_open in -lgdbm... yes checking preferred dbm library... gdbm chosen ...CUT... checking for gdbm_open in -lgdbm... yes checking for GDBM support... yes checking for NDBM support... no checking for db_appinit in -ldb... yes checking for db_appinit in -ldb2... no checking for db_appinit in -lc... no checking for Berkeley DB2 support... yes checking for DBM support... no checking for CDB support... no ------------------------------------------ After PHP is compiled and installed, if I try to use either the gdbm or db2 handler to the dba_* functions, I get the following error: Warning: driver initialization failed in /test.php3 on line 11 If I use a handler that I didn't compile in, the get an error message as follows: Warning: no such handler: ndbm in /test.php3 on line 11 which seems to indicate that the support is compiled in and recognized but OBVIOUSLY not initializing properly. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. System: RedHat Linux 6.2 Apache 1.3.12 PHP 3.0.16 Berkeley DB 2.7.7 If more information is needed, let me know.
