Not sure about MS Access, but I had the same problem with MySQL. I could not get the date converted with the PHP functions. I ended up reformatting the data in my SELECT statement... "SELECT DATE_FORMAT(date, '%M %D, %Y'),text FROM news order by date desc" I'm not sure if Access is capable of reformatting the output in this manner. Hope it helps a little.
