Don't forget you can just as easily replace the ; with any character you may

How about this:
<?php
$emailstring = "me@my.com;this@that.com;let@this.com";
@emails = explode(";", $emailstring);
foreach($emails as $email) {
echo "INSERT INTO news VALUES('$email');\n";
}
?>
