Re: Using PHAkt for PHP in UltraDev 4?

Hi Brian, We've tried it, and decided to buy UltraDev for two reasons : - staff from our company are using Dreamweaver for years (to build static pages), - ... and we've tried PHAKT, and it appears interesting. We tried it to build 'graphically' lists from oracles tables, with prev - next button, dynamic menus from other tables, etc... It works well. The code generated seems a little bit fuzzy for us, but it is certainly because we are newbies to PHP, too. Nevertheless, some of us prefer using HomeSite or HTML-Kit to maintain php pages, but if they have to build something new, they use ultradev/phkat. The ADODB wrapper is something else new for us, and some functions don't work in our case : for example, the adodb RecordCount() function is unusable. We don't know yet if it will be a major problem for us. Something else, actually, PHAKT is free, and one version not ? we don't know about its future. It is not really a problem for us, because we bought UltraDev for other reasons too. We can also use a freeware as HTML-Kit for example, but of course, this one doesn't build code as phakt does.
