I downloaded and compiled php 4.01pl2 with the ibmdb2 configure switch, and got php working fine. However, when I try to connect to a databse, I get random noise for error messages. Here is one of the error messages I recevied: Warning: SQL error: , SQL state ‰N+@ in SQLConnect in /opt/IBMHTTPServer/htdocs/php/dbtest.php on line 2 it alternates back and forth between that and Warning: SQL error: , SQL state ‰N+@$Ðùÿ¿§N+@ in SQLConnect in /opt/IBMHTTPServer/htdocs/php/dbtest.php on line 2 I can generate other error messages, but why the heck are they encoded like that? using a hex editor, I discovered the hex chars, and the hex chars don't match any SQL states that db2 has. Is this caused by a pointer misuse in db2, or something? sometimes I get strange things like: Warning: SQL error: , SQL state ‰N+@ESSIÐùÿ¿§N+@PHPSESSI in SQLConnect in /opt/IBMHTTPServer/htdocs/php/dbtest.php on line 2 Which make me suspicious that it is a pointer error (because of the PHP SESSI). Anyway, sql developers, take a look at this, I kind of want to know WHY it won't connect :P Ben Zeigler
