Strange ereg_replace problems

Hi!
I've got a really strange problem with ereg_replace.
It appeared sort of out of thin air, just suddenly stopped
working, and I didn't even change the code one bit.
Here's the code and some debug-output :

Quite all right. Then we hit the Next page -button, and get

Note the LIMIT 0,20 here.
I'm getting a bit annoyed over this "feature". Anyone have any ideas?
