Using the DB Class from PHP4 in PHP3 -- possible?

Hello all!
I was just wondering if anyone's tried this. I'm doing a contracting
gig for an Internet start-up and from what I can tell they're using
stock Redhat PHP 3.0.14 for their production site.
While I love phpDB I'd rather not code to it as the DB class in PHP4 is
much nicer.
Anyways, anyone who's tried this, speak up! I don't have the time right
now to actually setup PHP3 and try this so I'm just tossing it out.
