Session variables between secure and non-secure servers.

I have a web site which uses session variables to store the shopping cart
information as well as all of the users address info and other data. It all
works fine until I change to a secure server, where the session variables no
longer are accessible. This probably has some sort of workaround, but could
any of you shed some light on it?
