I have the compiles done. I can log into Oracle via sqlplus. I set up my apache. I now know I'm *talking* to Oracle, but it's still not happy. phpinfo() shows Oracle is there. The database is up. The web server is running as a user that can log in via sqlplus. The environment variables are set correctly. The copy of oracle is running on the local host. I have searched archives, google, deja and no one seemed to have an answer that was relevant. The script I'm using: <html> <head> <title>Oracle Test Results Page</title> </head> <body bgcolor=#FFFFFF> <h1 align=center>Oracle Test Results Page</h1> <?php $conn = OCILogon("system","manager"); print "Oracle HOME = $ORACLE_HOME\n<br>"; print "Oracle Connection ID = $conn\n<br>"; if ($conn != "") { print "Server Version: " . OCIServerVersion($conn); OCILogOff($conn); } ?> </body> </html> The results are the same: Warning: OCISessionBegin: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available in /home/httpd/html/oratest.php on line 10 I have recompiled now that suid is set on Oracle. I am out of ideas. And, given that I've been banging on this for a week, if I can't get it up in the next day, it's going to have to be done in another language, which I would *rather* not do.
