hi all,
i have prob with passing the values filled in a form.
like
<form action="action.php" method=post(get)>
name:
<input name="name".....>
</form>
so this form accepts data and gives it action.php here $name.
my action.php is
<?echo $name;?>
but this nothing since nothing is passed.but
<?echo $_get['name'];?> does print the name the sme thing is with post.
i use apache 1.3.24 and php 4.2 .with postgres 7.2. now my ques is
1.are these variables stored as global variables in array _get[].
2.but in tuts of many sites i've seen that
<? echo $name;?> works.never i've seen this $_get['name']
.is this a prob arising because of some settings or is this a prob/feature of php4.2.how can fix it so as to make it work with $name
3.also now if i write
$query="insert into table values($_get['name'])";
pg_query($connection,$query);
i get a strange error saying some strange stuff.doesn't this work.
plz help me fix it
bye
suman
