You may want to try Metabase that comes with ODBC driver as well many other
drivers. Metabase not only provides database independent access
facilities, but also lets you define database independent schema in an easy
to use XML format and it creates your database the necessary tables,
fields, indexes and sequences.
If you change your schema file, Metabase may figure the changes and only
alter your database schema objects that are needed to change without
affecting any data that was added to the database since the last
installation or the last time the database schema was updated.
Metabase ODBC driver needs some work to take the most of Metabase
facilities like most of the other drivers, but that is work in progress.
