We've been struggling with that for the past week. Tried FreeTds and it works OK on apache 1.3.12 with php3 or php4 compiled through apxs. You must use certain odd tricks such as adding "select 1" to any query that does not return results (insert, for one), which meant I could not get phplib to work so I had to give that up. The openlink solution works like a dream but the server side product is very expensive for what I could tell. We're now trying a similar product by a company called easysoft and that's working ok, although at the moment the setup of the connection to the database is slow but i assume some tweaking will fix that. I gave up as it seem to crash on every page with more than one query on it. If you do try it I'd like to know how you get on.
