Hi Folks,
We need to store MD5-hashed strings in an Oracle 9.x database,
and have a stored procedure validate the stored MD5-hashed
strings against PHP-supplied hashed strings.
It turns out that Oracle's DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT.MD5 function
returns a a 16-character string of hex characters, as opposed
to the "conventional" (??) 32-character string of hex characters
used by everyone else.
Can anyone suggest a quick way of converting between the
32-character "conventional" string of hex chars and the 16-char
string that dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.md5 likes to return,
either in PHP or on the Oracle side (PL/SQL)?
Thanks! -T.
