Hi Interesting discussion. The question was actually about converting XML data and loading it into a MySql database. Should have been clearer in the original question :) i.e. XML -> convert to field data -> MySql table We have a website that has been self contained but increasingly needs to interface with other sites and servers. We are a portal site which takes orders from customers, finds the best supplier and passes the order to the supplier. To date, data interchange as been by users uploading csv data. We are progressing to live interfacing and want to use XML to query and/ or load data to and from remote servers. Not having worked with XML before and having to put a fixed price on the contract I was looking for techniques for converting XML -> MySql and MySql -> XML and any problems - don't want to over or under quote. Thanks for the replies, if anybody has anything to add in the light of the above I would be interested to hear from you.
