Querying DB2 on AS400 from Linux w/ PHP

Heya, Typically we've developed applications using PHP that connect to our local PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. PHP makes this supa-easy to do, so we've been quite happy. Now, though, we're working with a client to set up a system where users can track their shipments via the web. The client is storing the tracking info in a DB2 server running on an AS400 at their location. So, we need to query the DB2 server from our Linux web server. We can handle all the web server side scripting fine, but we're kinda lost when it comes to getting the connectivity to the AS400 DB2 server running. Can somebody give us a clear rundown on the steps we need to take?
