When you say "full Oracle install" do you mean that the user also has to
install Oracle 8 *server* on the w3server/php box? Aren't all that's
needed the 8i client libraries? [i know that is the case for the windoze
port].
I only have access to an Oracle db at work, and I just have NT at work,
otherwise I could test that at home [come to think of it, i might have 8i
personal edition on CDROM for linux laying around; but i'm not sure if one
can use that to install a client on one linux box and a server on
another].
