Currently we have been speaking with a hosting service to move our current
developent to a managed host service.
The question of database connectivity leaves me a bit mystified however.
Currently they are telling me that they are going to supply a standard build
for all customers with Apache, loading modules they have prepared, the
current php 4.0.0 with gd and freetype included. This is good, however when
I ask for ODBC support they reply that I must supply that.
With this in mind, is it possible to build ODBC cupport as a dso for PHP?
Has anyone done this? Would this be stable or suffer performance isues?
Thanks,
DAve
