mysql php page crashes netscape 4.04

Hi, I have a php page that is generated from the values returned from a previous form search page after accessing a mysql db. It works fine with IE 5 but causes netscape to give an "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down error" (this is in win95 and 98). The php form search page loads fine (except with Mozilla build 15 which crashes straight out) in netscape but again, it crashes before the next page loads after the submit. Any ideas why this is so? I'm building this page for the general net so I can't just tell visitors to upgrade their obsolete netscape browser. oh, it also works fine with netscape 4 on the mac.
