PHP needs the file mysql.so to work with mysql. If you had installed the RPM binary version of PHP3, you can download the package mod_php3-mysql-3.0.12-1.i386.rpm that contains this module. You can download it from http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/contrib/libc6/i386/mod_php3-mysql-3.0.12-1. i386.html. Otherwise you need to compile PHP with --with-mysql option. I had installed this package on my Red Hat Linux 6.2, and it works fine. To install, you need to install this package with the --nodeps option. It will install the module in /usr/lib/apache/. Then you can modify the file /etc/httpd/php3.ini. You need to uncomment ";extension=mysql.so" line, by removing the ";". Then you need to restart apache and it will work. -------------------------------------------------------- Ricardo Alexandre Trombetta ricardot@netcomp.com.br Linux Network Admin - Netcomp ISP - Sao Paulo - Brazil Conectiva Linux Certified - MCP 1747122 -------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: srikanth <n_srikanth@hotmail.com> To: <php-db@lists.php.net> Sent: Tuesday, August 22, 2000 4:31 AM Subject: [PHP-DB] MY sql with PHP Hi, We are using ASP with IIS.
