mail() question

I am trying to get the mail() function to work. Here is my test code: ini_set("SMTP", "mail.mydomain.com"); ini_set("sendmail_from", "myname@mydomain.com"); echo ini_get("SMTP"); echo "<br><br>", ini_get("sendmail_from"); echo "<br><br>", ini_get("sendmail_path"); echo $success = mail("yourname@yourdomain.com", "A subject", "Some contents"); I print the settings out to make sure they are right. And they look like right. But even if the mail() function retuns 1, the mail still doesn't go through. Don't even see a log on the mail server. Can somebody tell me what I am missing?
