PROBLEM BACKGROUND: I am using PHP ODBC to access an MS Access database in Greek language on an NT Server running IIS. PROBLEM: The problem is that the Greek data comes out with question mark (?) characters, and shows that somewhere in the transfer from the server to the browser the system fails to convert the characters to a character set that is suitable for the IIS to push. MY TAKE: I think the problem is somewhere within the ODBC drivers for the MS Access DB. I created a test script that shows the problem. It is located at http://www.medic.gr/medic/db.php <http://www.medic.gr/medic/db.php> The result that you see on the screen is one field from the first record of the database. It appears as: ???e???e???????? Instead of: ???????????????? (I'm sure it's all Greek to you) WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR: 1. I installed the Greek ODBC-32 package on the server (not the drivers) 2. Have looked into Microsoft's site for possible IIS problems but could not find anything that relates to that. 3. The Access database opens good on the server (using MS Access) and the Greek is visible. 4. I have installed multilingual support on NT including the Greek keyboard. POSSIBLE IDEAS: 1. Possibly install Greek ODBC drivers from a Multilanguage pack of office? Any suggestions? 2. Out of ideas. Please help. Thanks for your time.
