You cannot make it case insensitive, nevertheless you can use a workaround :
select company
from mytable
where upper(company) like upper('xa%')

Subject: how can I make a "LIKE" select with case insensitivity using
Oracle ?????
A company name is "Xavor"
and I want to prompt a user (using WML) to type in the first 2 characters of
a company name then perform select on it, such as :
select company from mytable where company like 'xa%' #this returns nothing
select company from mytable where company like 'Xa%' #this returns Xavor
Any help would be appreciated
