php admin text edit then crash question

I can post some source code by form to db and it all looks good in the db.
When using phpadmin and adding "wow" to the end of the source phpadmin gets a quote error.
The db field holding this is text.
Why would it get a quote error from that?
Is this a server issue or my fault? (its hosted)
