saving multiple blobs in an oci8 table???

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had an examples of saving multiple blobs into an oracle 8 table using a single OCIExecute (rather than inserting and then updating, updating, updating...ack...) ? I'm not sure it's even possible, but I'm pulling out my hair trying... I'm basing it on the examples in the PHP manual, and it's complaining about both my syntax, the end of the sql query being something like this, which fails: "returning field1 into :the_blob_1, field2 into :the_blob_2" And it complains if I try to declare more than one lob descriptor (later, when I reference them for a save...it has lost one of them?)
