You can't store a connection in a session variable as in ASP you must open a connection for each page. All a persisent connection does is stay open after the page ends (you can't close it) and then looks for a existing connection when opening. > ---------- > From: David Newcomb[SMTP:davidn@vnvi.com] > Sent: 15 September 2000 17:20 > To: Jeroen ten Berge > Cc: php-db > Subject: Re: [PHP-DB] OCIPLogin and sessions/cookies > > Jeroen, > > Then what is the point of OCIPLogin() then? > > David. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Jeroen ten Berge mailto:j.ten.berge@getexo.nl > > Better close the connection after every page generation, otherwise it > could > > stay open... > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: David Newcomb [mailto:davidn@vnvi.com] > > > > Hi All, > > > > Just a quick question about persistant connections to Oracle. > > > > Once I do: > > $conn=OCIPLogin($u,$p,$d) > > > > can I keep the $conn is a cookie or session variable for > > reuses in another 'hit'.
