Did you start the mysqld (mysqld-shareware) Daemon??
It only works if this Daemon is running in the background!
And be careful! You need to shutdown MySQL before exiting Windows via
mysqladmin!

What about Apache? :)
I'm using Apache 1.3.12, PHP 3.0.11 (with GIF support) and MySQL (Windows
Shareware version) without any problems!
