Salute !
In a company there is the following constallation installed:
MSSQL-Server as db-server under WinNT and Apache as www-server under Linux,
with PHP3.0.16 and the mssql-module, with the known problems if
PHP-actions try to write in the db (segmentation fault).
But there is today about 2.500 rows of PHP/HTML-code.
The developers idea is to take the PHP-code and write therefor C-programs
and ask the programs with CGI to obtain the results to write in the db.
Now, I'm not so perfect to know all other solutions and versions, but I
have a bad feeling with this constallation (especially MSSQL), therefore my
ask:
Can someone write my the highest reasons to use PHP instead C/CGI and also
do'nt to use MSSQL?
The answers will be helpfull for me to discuss with the developers.
Thanks and have a nice day, Ingo.
