You can have CR's in regular char fields, first of all I recommend you use
MSDE from Microsoft which is a fully operational SQL Server 7 but it's for
development and does not allow more than 5 simultaneous users. In case you
want to stick with MS Access, then you could use a char field with a length
of 2048 or 4096, then you don't have replication issue's or trouble
grouping/sorting whatever on this field.
The first 2 sql statements where OK.

J.

Subject: [PHP-DB] Memo field in Access
Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with an Access database. I'm developping a new
application which will enable student to store their resume on a MS Access
based database. Therefore by the end of the formular form, I introduced a
TEXTAREA field where students will be able to put anything about their
leisure or ...
I used a TEXTAREA to enable CR in this field, and I mapped it onto a Memo
field in my database also to enable CR.
My question is the followind :
How can I update data into the database ?
I tried the followings but none works.
$sql = "UPDATE $table set Divers='$Divers' WHERE ID_etudiant=$ID;";
$sql = "UPDATE $table set [Divers]=\"$Divers\" WHERE ID_etudiant=$ID;";
$sql = "UPDATE $table set [Divers]=[$Divers] WHERE ID_etudiant=$ID;";
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated !
Thanks
Stéphane
