After running my inexperienced eye over the script one more time I am now
of the opinion that a null value will be entered if the user enters
nothing in the form. That is if I understand correctly that a string
length of '0' would mean no entry has been made. This will work well with
what I want to do. I'll soon find out anyway. If this is correct
disregard last message.
