phplib question using mysql

one of our developers are using phplib+mysql.. just
recently, when i upgraded php on that server to
support
oracle, he reported he got database rrors in his
phplib. of course i think this isnt related to the
oracle support but probably to the php compilation in
general. here are the errors:
Database Error: Invalid SQL: DELETE from
active_sessions where changed < '20001010130341' AND
name=gps_Session
MySQL Error: 0 ()
Session halted.
When I reloaded the page:
Database Error: Invalid SQL: update active_sessions
set
val='Z3BzX1N...long one...', changed='20001011130641'
where sid='the session ID' and name='gps_Session'
What are the conditions that can result to this
situation? What can I do to prevent this as well as
correct this? Im concerned as this just occured on a
production server. I really appreciate any help.
