Interbase + PHP 4.03pl1 headache

Well.. I updated IIS5 + PHP 4.02 + Interbase system to
have PHP 4.03pl1 and it broke allmost all every script
related to Interbase.
Results are:
- Scripts which will die for timeout (returning nothing)
- Scripts which will return Interbase errors, like:
"InterBase: invalid statement handle in xxx"
I have heard someone saying that "Never change the working system",
but I thought that allready buggy Interbase support will get a
little bit better... :-)
Anyone with similiar problems and/or solution?
