Not to ask the obvious question, but does the mod_dir directive
DirectoryIndex contain index.php3 or index.php at either directory or
global level?
E.g.,
DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.jsp index.php index.php3
in the global .conf file or in .htaccess.
