I cannot insert more than 1024 characters

Dear friends, When I try to insert data to a MySQL table from a PHP script, I cannot insert more than 1024 characters from a variable ($var2) into a TEXT datatype field, when I use the following PHP code: ..... $inserting="insert into table1 values ('$var1','$var2')"; $query = mysql_query($inserting) or die ("Cannot execute inserting"); ..... My script reads various text fields from a MySQL table, then in $var2 I store the concatenation of these fields, so $var2 is a large text data, with around 3000 characteres. When I want to insert $var2 into another table, MySQL cannot perform the operation if $var2 has more than 1024 characters. What could be wrong. Perhaps I need to change some configuration directives?
