This is a strategy question.
I have some tables that are reference information
only. Example ref table is
cs_Priority
--------------------------------
Priority_Id INT Primary Key
Priority varchar2
This information will be tied to a table that stores
software tracking issues. So whenever I lookup a issue
the priority information will be there also. Example
issue table is
cs_Issue
--------------------------------
Issue_No INT Primary Key
Issue_Date Date
Issue_Desc varchar2
Priority ????????????????
Would it be wiser to store the primary key into the
issue table (this would cause me to use joins when
I do a query) or to store the text information?
