I am using PHP and MySQL
I have an inventory database that tracks the manufacture of plastic sheets.
The machine that makes the sheets can only make a limited amount of material
per day based on weight. The database has orders entered into it by the
foreman who assigns orders to machines based on the date and the weight. The
machine workers use print outs of the foreman's database to process the
orders.
The function I am trying to enable now is the ability to roll over orders to
the next day when they reach their weight limit. So that if the foreman
enters an order for Wednesday and it exceeds the weight limit it will
automatically split the order and roll part of it over to Thursday and if by
doing that Thursday hits it's weight limit it will roll over and so on...
This would do the same thing if an order is modified or deleted.
I am a novice at PHP and MySQL but I have had great success so far.
Sometimes it takes me a long time to figure out simple functions because I
am learning as I go.
I will take any advice anyone wants to throw at me. It really helps if you
give me complete code phrases when showing examples. I have been thrown off
for hours because an example someone gave me was incomplete and my syntax
was slightly off.
Thanks
Chris
