I'm trying to make php4 (with Apache 1.3.12) talk to Sybase 11.0.3.3. I can connect and execute the query ( something like: select id,\"none\" as name from files where id>90) but I get varying results --when cycling through the recordset, the output varies. Now, I've tried connecting with both _connect and _pconnect, I've tried recompiling with both "with-sybase" and "with-sybase-ct," I've tried the query both as sql and as a stored procedure and I've tried cycling throught the results with (METHOD1) _fetch_row($result), (METHOD 2) _fetch_array($result), (METHOD 3)_fetch_object($result) and by (METHOD 4)_data_seek($result,$counter) to each particular row with a _fetch_row($result) explicitly. In all cases I see the same problem. My query should return X amount of rows and appropriately, _num_rows($result) allways answers with X. However, when I try to cycle through the data to print it out (none of the data is NULL), varrying amounts of rows get printed. The ID field is an integer and the name field is always "none" so there shouldn't be any wierd special characters that are making my html screwey (i've also verified this by looking at the source of the html). METHOD 1 and 4 exhibit the most problems. They display different amounts of rows nearly every time And occasionally will result in an "invalid or unrecognized response from the server" from IE or a "document contained no data" from Netscape. METHOD 2 and 3 don't appear to every yield browser errors but occasionally will spit out different amounts of rows. Does anybody have a clue as to what might be happening? Mike
